A dozen of small islands are floating on the water surface, and over the peninsula on the west bank, cottages are spotted among the farmland and gardens. The lake produces abundant plateau fish, about 300,000 ton, claiming to be the "Fish Reservoir in Tibet". The lake is 800 metres higher than the Yarlung Zangbo River underneath.
