    8am–9am Drive to the Terracotta Army 

    9:00-12:00 AM Visit the Terracotta Army and the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang
    Situated in east of Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum, Lintong County, Xi'an City, the Terracotta Army is a thematic museum for historical sites. It was built in 1979. The museum is a national cultural heritage under special protection and a state 5 A scenic attraction.
    Terracotta warriors & horses of 2000 years ago are the star features at the museum, serving as guardians to protect the entrance of Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum. The museum covers an area of 20,000 square metres, containing over ten thousand pottery warriors with four different military forces of infantry, jades, chariots and cavalry equipped with practical weapons originally, such as bows, arrows, spears, dagger-axe and halberds etc. Some of them went forward with crossbows while others drove horses, facing east.
    Pit 1, the largest pit, measures 230 metres long from east to west, 62 metres wide from north to south. More than 6,000 life-size pottery warriors and horses, as well as 50 chariots are arrayed. Pottery figures in Pit 2 are in a composite formation of four specialized military forces, while Pit 3 is now known as the command center of the entire army.
    The terra-cotta warriors and horses are arrayed in a practical battle formation. This reflected the unique military strategy of Qin army. It just likes a book of tactics in the Qin Dynasty. Excavated relics and weapons are also exhibited in the museum, of which the bronze chariots and horses is the most exquisite one. With luxurious materials, skilled manufacture and excellent workmanship, it is praised as "the treasure of the nation" and "the best of bronzes".
    The Terracotta Army is titled as "the Pyramid in China" and "the Eighth Wonder of the World". It was listed by UNESCO as one of the world cultural heritages.
