Xi'an: Terracotta Army, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Ancient City Wall

    • Breakfast, Lunch

You have plenty of time to visit the Terracotta Army. Thousands of life-sized terra cotta warriors lined up in battle array with horse-drawn chariots have been excavated. The warriors are of a fairly uniform height of 1.8 metres. With their individual features and facial expressions, they are amazingly lifelike. Visitors have called this awesome sight the "eighth wonder of the world.
Have a lunch near the Terracotta Army Then we will go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Located within the compound of the Temple Dacien in the city's southern suburbs, this pagoda was built in AD.652 to house Buddhist scriptures that had been brought from India by Xuan Zang, an eminent monk of the Tang Dynasty. The wood-and-brick structure is sixty-four metres high and has seven stories.
Today ends with a visit to the Ancient City Wall, which represents one of the oldest and well preserved walls of Chinese city, with a length of 13.74 kilometers.
  • Day3

    Xi'an: Mount Hua

    • Breakfast, Lunch
    • in Xi'an
Today we will drive 1.5 hours to Monte Hua. This mountain is south of Huayin County seat at 120 kilometres east of Xi'an. Towering 2,200 metres above sea level, it was called the western one of the five sacred mountains in ancient China. With the Huanghe (Yellow River) flowing in its front and the Qinling Range as its back screen, it offers a majestic view.
Seen from a distance, the mountain with its peaks looked like a flower, so the ancients decided on "hua" (flower) as its name.
Mount Hua is known in the country for its beautiful steepness. Three of its five prominent peaks—the South, East and West Peaks—stand loftily as if piercing into the sky. The other two, the North and Middle Peaks, though not as high yet fenced in by undulating heights, offer magnificent views too.
Mount Hua, from the foot to the peaks, abounds in relics from the past in the form of temples, ruins, stories of folklore and about ancient celebrities.
